What is an Arborist?

An Arborist or Arboriculturalist is a professional whom practices arboriculture. Arboriculture being the cutting down of trees, tree management and or the study and health care of trees in their environment. All Arbor Care is represented by our professionally qualified arborist, David Morrison. David has well over 20 years of arbor care experience and is well known as a reputable arborist in the tree industry, with certified level 5 Arborist qualifications.

What type of tree services are you looking for?

An extensive range of horticultural practices can call upon the needs of a professional arborist. Some common terms used to describe arborist services include;

Tree felling - where a chainsaw is used to cut down individual trees (tree removal).

Stump Grinding - using a special stump grinder tool this is the process of complete removal of tree stumps. Often followed on from tree felling as part of a total tree removal process.

Tree lopping - selective removal of parts of a tree often referred to as tree pruning (below).

Tree pruning - can involve tree lopping or tree thinning and can be done in a way to redirect the growth of the tree or plant. Ideal for avoiding power lines, buildings or redirecting the trees crown growth to provide a window of view or restrict a trees height or growth.

Dead Wooding - this involves removal of dead or infected tree branches. Dead branches of trees are best removed for safety as they continue to rot and eventually become dislodged from the main tree trunk especially in high winds which poses a risk of harm or damage when they do eventually fall.

Tree surgeon - The health of trees and shrubs can be affected by their surrounding environment, lack of light, pests, disease and even from root damage. With the assistance and advice of a trained arborist you can often heal your trees condition and prevent further damage.
